Default {SOLVED} AMV files not showing when uploaded to player

Hello,

I just got an ebay nano clone 1gb. I can upload MP3s and play them fine, but when I upload a video file it will not show on the player. I have verified that I have enough space. I am unsure of the make/model of my player but the firmware ver is.. 2.611.101 I cant get the device to detect with the MP3 update tool so I can get the manufacture name.

Any ideas why I can not see the files on my player, but i can explore it through windows and the file is there..

Thanks in advance

Cyberflexx, Your player is most likely not an Action chipset player
and does not support AMV video format or the MP3 Upgrade tool. Looking at your version number I would say you have a Sigmatel chipset which supports SMV from memory and maybe MTV. Your player should have come pre-loaded with a video sample so check the format. If it did not then I suggest you download the other converters fronm the Downloads\Tools section and try conversions of those formats.

Thanks.. It had a video on it, I think it was a SMV but I removed it when I was making space for mp3s.. I'll give that a try...

Cyberflexx

If you had "SMV" then it looks like your player is a "Sigmatel" player. "SMV" = Sigmatel Motion Video.

.AMV = Actions Motion Video will work with Actions board based players only. Unfortunately they are both not compatible and very different.

Cyberflexx, to try and rule out if it is a conversion problem or a player problem I have uploaded a sample SMV I have converted. It is 128x128 and I have not tried it as I do not have an SMV player. Let me know if it runs ok. You can download the test file HERE
