Default Radio problem

I have receive today a MP4 player that i have buy from ebay! The problem that i have is that the Radio is not working.I try to tune in any station but nothing! In menu have a selection about bands,Normal (88-108) and Japan.I have choose the Normal but nothing!I have read somewhere that maybe it doesn't have a radio chip and it have the radio selection because an upgraded firmware! So is problem of the player(maybe not FM chip) or the upgraded firmware?
Thanks in advance!!!

The earphones cable is the aerial for the radio.

Did you have your earphones connected when you tried to tune the radio?

Try another set of earphones too instead just in case.

What do you hear when you try to tune the radio? Just static noises and nothing else? Or do you sometimes get some music from it? If nothing, then there might be a high chance that it doesn't have a FM chip.

Do you still have contact with the seller? You might want to ask them to confirm it does actually have FM radio.

If there is static noise, but you can't tune in to any station, probably your FM chip has malfunctioned, or the firmware section for the FM function is corrupt.

Try extracting, repairing and re-flashing back your current firmware and see if it solves the problem.

If not, seems like you have no choice but to send the player back to UK for replacement. But for such cases, you probably would not need to pay the return postage from UK to you. You need to check with your seller and agree to the postage liability.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.
