Default Which player

I've a mp4 player 1 Gb that seems to be this one.
I tried the software on the cd but I can't find the version of my unbranded player firmware .
I would like to upgrade or mod my firmware but I can't.
I tried to use every tool of this site to extract the firmware but no one works!
the s1 can't find my device
The Sigmatel firmware extractor give me an error reading.
Any software or suggestion

fransis, is your player currently working or dead?

If it's working, and you want to extract the firmware, you'll need to use the S1fwx tool to extract it from your player, repair it, then do changes to the images and text string within it using the S1res tool. Both of these can be downloaded from the Downloads section.

If you are currently using this tool to extract, but S1fwx can't detect your player, try using another usb port on your computer, or using another computer, or trying with a different usb cable.

I don't think the Sigmatel extractor would work on your player, your player should be under the S1 types.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

Thanks.
My Mp4 works.
I just want to make a backup of firmware before starting to making some change.

I've tried to change the port and the computer ... not the cable because it has a particular mini_usb attachement.
I used s1fwx found on the site but nothing

I give an image that will'explain my problem.

fransis

If s1fwx doesn't recognise it, then it's not an ACTIONS (s1mp3) board unfortunately.

So that means it would either be a Sigmatel or Sunplus board instead.

You said you've tried a Sigmatel Extractor and that doesn't work, so it tells me it could be a Sunplus chip instead.

Unfortunately, I haven't found any tools to extract the Sunplus chips yet.

However, looking at your screenshot, Device Manager saids "Sigmatel" which is interesting. The Sigmatel Firmware Extractor should find it. What error did you get?

The best thing to do is to send us some more information about your player. Like a photo of the player's menu.

What is stored on your cd?
Try to go through all the folders and see what you can find.
