Default I don't know the first thing about all this

Hi, I bought this MP4 player from hong kong. It is so cute but I can't read the manual, and the install disk that came with it was for some sort of web cam. So I wrote the guy (psp_world) and told him and he sent me a link to this site to download a driver? from here. I don't know the first thing about all this! I tried to download a driver for windows 98 (tha's all that's there) and my computer won't run it. I have a windows XP. Any advice?? I want this thing to work, but I have a feeling I was ripped off. I read all the ebay reviews and they were all good, but it may still be bad. Thanks, Rebecca

Default Re: Help!

rebwise, you don't need any drivers for winXP. Just plug in the player with the usb cable and your computer will take care of the rest. You only need drivers for win98.

As for your player's real memory size, you can format your player with the MP3 Utilities Disk Tool or HP Format Tool, both downloadable from the downloades section. Do a low level full format and check if the real memory size is 512MB as mentioned in the ad.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

rebwise,
As "lattesurf" rightly pointed out you should not need a driver for XP, it should install automatically.
What is happening when you connect your player to your PC?
If you open My Computer your player should appear as a "Removable Device".
Does the screen on player go to a USB connection image?
