(solved) Need help to find a missing Folder
Mini Media BLUE 1GB MP4 Digital Media Player+Free Case (190027096366)
I bought this player and it works fine playing music but the cd that came with it has a folder (mp3_mp4setup)that will not open up,the Computer says it does not exist. Please can someone help me with this folder as it is needed to make full use of the player. |
Laurence, The folder will contain a copy of MP3 Player Utilities. You can download all the applications you need in the Download >Tools section.
If your player has a 1.5 inch screen MP3 Player Utilities 3.68 is HERE If your screen is a 1.8 inch then MP3 Player Utilities 4.0 is HERE These versions of MP3 Player Utilities are for players that use the AMV Video format which is the most common. You will find other versions for other formats like SMV or MTV in the Downloads>Tools section. You should also download s1fwx to backup your firmware from your player, if you have any problems in the future it will be helpful to have a backup. You can download s1fwx HERE and their is a guide on the backup process HERE A word of warning regarding your new player, NEVER try to upgrade your firmware to a new or different version as you a bad upgrade will most likely leave it unusable. Enjoy your player :) |
Re: Need help to find a missing Folder
Thanks tadad1 for your reply but try as i might I cant seem to be able to download the folder mp3_utilities_3.68.msi Ikeep getting Rapid Share and it seems I have to buy this download as when I try to get it free its no go.Why cant I just download it from your site like I have done before I'm stumped can you tell me what I'm doing wrong, regards Laurence
|
Laurence, Due to the heavy amount of traffic that the site is generating the sites bandwidth usage has risen extremely high and as a result the cost of maintaining the site have also increased. In an attempt to keep the forum alive we have been forced to off load many of the larger downloads to Rapidshare in order to keep costs down.
After selecting free download at Rapidshare you need to wait for the timer (60sec) to count down to zero then you will be presented with a code you need to enter to download. If you are still having problems downloading let me know and I will upload a copy to sendspace and leave you a link. Sorry for the inconvenience, hopfully as the site becomes better funded through donations and sponsorship we will be able to store files on site again. |
Hi tadadI, I know i'm still doing something wrong but I cant get the download I wait for the timer to runout but no code comes to me so I cant get started , thanks for your trouble, Laurence
|
Laurence, No worries, it may be a popup blocker setting or something, try HERE .
|
Thanks tadad1 downloaded the file but it is the same file I had on the cd but trojan free which is good but I would still like the original folder maybe someone with the same player as me would be able to supply the folder mp3_mp4setup for whichI would be very grateful, yours Laurence, ps maybe I should enter a new topic.

Laurence,
I haven't seen a folder called 'mp3_mp4setup" on a cd before, but then again, I haven't seen every cd that comes with MP3/MP4 players either :). Have you tried accessing that folder on ANOTHER computer instead to see what happens? It might be the cd, but then again, it would be something with your computer too. It's worth a try. |
Laurence, You may be able to use something like PowerISO or ISOBuster to create an image of the CD then mount it or extract it to access the folder.
|
I tried the cd on a xp computer and the folder opened up it contains 15 files 6.76mb the files are adfulupdate,
disktool, fwupgrade, instmsiA,instmsiW,MSI winzip,MSIch MSIge,MSIen,MSIp,MSItw,playsnd,SETUP,tel_ch,tel_en pressing SETUP the install started and went a fair way until a window opened up saying source file not found MSI.CAB verify that the file exists and that you can access it then I had to close, can you make anything of this, I certainly cant, Laurence |
Laurence, Judging from the file names it is an install of MP3 Player Utilities and it is having trouble reading the msi.cab file. Try copying the whole install folder to your PC and remove any symbols that may be in the folder names like small rectangles that appear when Chinese text is used and you do not have the font installed. The install routine can't read these symbols so will not locate the files it needs. Then try an install .
|
Thanks tadad1 you found the answer and solved the problem, the folder had a small square instead of an underscore after mp3 and when I renamed it the install completed but the folder was of no use anyhow as the player utilities 3.68.msi was an upgrade of it and I wasted my time and yours trying to find the folder now I can get on doing things with my player, Laurence

Laurence, No problem :)
