Default Help my player knows what I did Last time!

Hi all,
I have a 1GB fake ipod nano china, the seller had informed that it can store upto 512 MB worth of music etc. so I was forewarned, but ...

Ok I loaded about 600 MB worth of mp3 (about 99 files) to the player and the player restarted when the song reached the rated limit [ as mentioned in some other threads].

so I deleted the folder from the player and put in a fresh folder and reduced the number of songs to about 75 (about 470MB).

But my player shows that the folder contains 99 songs and says <format> when it comes to the same song .

Any thing to do? I really dont want to format the player.

satyrex, You could try running an error check on your player by right clicking on it in Explorer and choose properties and then the tools tab, error checking and select both options.

did error checking -- no errors
Then I defragmented also -- no issues there.
I tried renaming also.
I will try something else now.

satyrex, actually if you copied out the 512MB worth of mp3s and videos out to a computer, which probably would take about 10-15mins. And then do a full format, which would take about less than 1min, you could copy back the files and solve your problems in less than 30mins.
Formatting won't do anything to your firmware, and clears out the error files/folders you are experiencing.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.
