Default Screen won't go black while charging

Hey all,

Just wondering if it is normal for my 1.5" nano clone screen not to go black while charging from USB? I have my settings set for the player to normally go black after 10 seconds, and i set it charging by USB by plugging it in then turning off the player, but the screen does not go black...

To the best of my knowledge it is bad in the long run for the screen to stay on so long, especially when i leave this thing charging overnight etc.

Also, is the player meant to display something when finished charging or stop or something? and how long should it take to recharge the player fully form flat?

Thanks,
Stuv.

Stuv, does the screen stay on continously only when it's charging? What about normal playing?

When your player is charging, you should be able to see the battery icon animating while recharging. When it is full, the battery icon should display full charge and stop animating.

The charge time varies from player to player, but i guess it should be somewhere between 3-6hours. You need to take note of your battery's full charge time over a series of charges, and avoid over-charging it (ie charging overnight), especially when using the AC adaptor.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

Stuv, On some players the screen does not go off when the player is connected and desplaying the USB Connection screen. If you press the menu button the player should then go to the menu screen and your LCD off settings will now work and your player will continue to charge. I have 2 players that continually display the battery animation while connected and others that show the animation until the battery is charged and then show the full battery icon. Depending on your battery around 4 hours should give you a full charge.
You should only use the AC adapter if you have no access to a PC and then only for short periods 3-4 hours as they but a strain on the battery and can shorten it's life. I would not recommend using the adapter overnight as some members have reported cooking their players doing so.

Stuv

Does your player's screen go black when you are listening to music? If not, then you will need to recheck your settings as there are generally two places you need to chnage it in.

Stuv, Having the player connected while it is off can damage the player as it will only charge while it is on. That is why the player turns on when plugged it even if it is off at the switch. Just flick it to menu if you want the screen to turn off.

ok... mine has a charging screen when off, i assume that is the screen u would get when charging with the wall charger...

Anyway, i'll just charge it in the PCconnected screen from now on, and let the screen go black after 10 seconds as it does...
