Default My battery lasts very little!

Hello, I have bought an mp4 from HK and ebay. And I think I'm one of the users who have a "bad battery" because If I charge it with my computer while about 5 hours the battery playing music only lasts about 1 hour. And the last day I charge fully the battery and I don't switch on the MP4 and 2 days later the battery was empty. What happens? I've definitely a bad battery
Because if I have a bad battery the sending to Honk Kong costs me a lot....

Bye!

Yusko, Sorry but it does sound like the battery is not holding it's charge. It could be the battery or a bad solder attachment.

If you have been ripped off with a hacked player by a seller submit a report to www.ic3.gov

Yusko, seems like your battery isin't holding it's charge well. My player lasts about 3-4hrs playing non-stop at max volume (still quite reasonable).
However, like yours, if i charge it full and leave it off totally for 1-2days, the battery goes flat.

You gotta work out the sums of posting it back and return mail charges, as compared to buying another replacement battery. See which one works out the cheapest for you.

So the recharger that they give us for our mp3 players are bad?
Cause my mp3 player only recharges upto 80% now which sucks.

ZiggyFlavel , well we can't say they are bad, but they are definitely not top quality like the ipod chargers or mobile phone chargers.
If you take a closer look at the AC adaptor's ratings, I believe some adaptors have an output of 6V. Whereas the ipod adaptors are 5V.
Why is this 6V? When the USB socket in computers only supplies 5V? Isin't that applying too much voltage on your player?

For your case of 80%, it could be either your battery is not that holding as much charge anymore, or something went wrong with the firmware. Which the latter might be able to be fixed by extracting, repairing and then re-flashing it back to your player.

HymenBuster, Yes, but my ac adaptor doesn't run well.

tadad1, I think the problem is the battery, but I can't change it can I?

lattesurf, I don't understand well "your battery isin't holding it's charge well" sorry I don't speak english so well.. with this answer do you think that the problem is not due to the battery?

I wait for your answers.

Thanks!

Yusko , every rechargeable battery has a lifespan. The more expensive and higher quality batteries allows you to charge upto 1000times.

In the case of these nano-clones, not many are the high-quality batteries. So maybe after 100 or 200 charges, some will start to lose it's charge. As in, the lifespan is shorten, is unable to hold the full amount of battery power that it used to.

lattesurf, I only have recharged it 4 times, I think the battery shouldn't lose his charge yet.. I don't know if my problem could be fixed via firmware, because I think that the problem is that the battery stop charging before it is complete and it show the battery icon as if it were full charged but it isn't I don't know..

I don't know what to do..

Yusko , you mentioned in your earlier post that your battery only lasts about 1hr playing time? If everytime you try to charge it full and it only lasts about 1hr or so, it might be that the battery that came with it isin't good quality or maybe part of the battery might be damaged or even an old used battery. Another reason could be that there is bad soldering, likely not as you are able to charge it but not full.
A different firmware update most probably would not fix the problem, but more likely to kill your player.
