Can you send us more information about your player? A photo? Also, in the "System Information" menu within your player, it might tell you the version and firmware type, that will be helpful too. If your player can't be detected by the s1fwx tool, then most likely, you have a different chipset which the s1fwx tool doesn't support. There are currently three major MP3/MP4 board manufacturers - Actions, Sunplus and Sigmatel. ACTIONS boards can be read by the s1fwx tool, while Sunplus and Sigmatel can't unfortunately. There isn't many tools available for the Sunplus and Sigmatel based boards as well unfortunately. |
dersquaw, You can download EasyChips HERE and it will tell you tthe players chipset type.
You also need to be running Windows 2000 and up as s1fwx does not work with 98, 98SE, or ME. |
Dear tadad1,
Do you happen to know what op sys and/or file system EasyChips is intended for ? (w98, fat 32?) From what I have read here some claim they can operate it under XP but I have tried running it on several XP systems (NTFS and fat32) and get nowhere even if trying the "emulate" options. Is there a trick to avoid the "collating" error? Does anyone know of an equivalent program that might operate on linux? If so then I would suggest that a Knoppix type boot disk with that utility would be worth adding to the download section. |
