Hi tadad1. I have the same problem. In your Dead Player Recovery Guide u said: ""When the next window opens choose “Show All Devices” then next. In the next window select “Have Disk” then “Browse”. Now you will see you are looking for AdufUpdate.inf which you will find in the Windows Folder." Well, in my XP don't have "AdufUpdate.inf" so please tell me where i get that file. Thanks... and congratulations for your great job...

Do a search first for the adfuupdate file on your computer to see in which folder it is? I had that problem but found the file in the MP3 Player Product Tools folder, which I downloaded from this forum (see download section)

If you are installed the MP3 Utilities the files will be in the %systemroot%\system32 folder, if not you can put in a folder (after download it :P ) and when the dialog comes use the browse button for go to that folder.

regards from Colombia.

Product tool

Extract to folder, don't install because you can not use it without killing your player. When asked for the adfuupdate file browse to the folder you extracted the files in. Worked for me.

To install the file AdufUpdate.inf on WinXP, do the following: [I had the same problem of WinXP failing to load the driver but have managed to finally load full firmware. I had not backed up my firmware before I killed my fake ipod nano it had ACT_3.5.35. If anyone has the correct bin file I would appreciate it. ]

Anyway right click on my computer, go to properties, then select hardware tab. click on driver signing. A window will pop up with three options. Choose "Ignore - Install the software anyway and dn't ask for my approval". You will probably also have to check "make this action the system default" . Remember to change all these settings back once you have installed your player as an ADFU device.

Thanks guys for the dead player guide - It is so easy to follow even I could do it! :D
