END.RES only has one file, how to make it animated?

Erm....basically learnt quite alot of things from this webby, thx for all those forummers that are helping ppl that dunno.

Come straight to the point. I am trying to customize my own mp4 player but but meet one minor problem. Hope someone can help. In s1res.exe, under END.RES tab, i only have 1 file--> icon---> LEDI_BYE. But i wanna customized my mp4 player into a animated screen when showing "BYE"
Any idea of adding "frame/files" to my END.RES

Regard,
KidzNia

KidzNia,
Sorry but to the best of my knowledge it is not possible to add frames to the animations. I have even replaced an 8 image END.RES with a 16 image END.RES and although it then had 16 images in the firmware it still only player the first 8.

Erm...Okie....but if i try other firmware that is able to suppport more frame rate is that okie?

After reading quite a few post, i realized that wrong firmware version can result in 'dead' players. but can it be recovered back using the original backup file?

KidzNia, Any firmware upgrade is risky, having a backup of your firmware increases your chances of recovering your player but is no gaurantee. You need to decide if a 2-3 second animation is worth the risk.

Thx for advice. Another question here, when i start up my mpx, there is a sand clock? not sure about the name turning. I cant find it neither at END.RES nor at UI30.RES/Icon.

editted: also not a LOGO.RES

so i think it might be at here
Under UI30.RES/ Data, there is some files (called STAFF1 to STAFF12) not sure whether it that one cuz when i click on it, it shows :

[data resources]
contains data of unknown type

"STAFF1", size =15 bytes

Maybe u can help out wif me

Best Regard,

KidzNia, The boot hour glass can not be changed as it can not be accessed with s1res.
There is a program called Waterlily that has an option clled "Open Logo" for changing it but I have never been able to get it to work. You can download Waterlily from the Downloads>Tools section.
If you do make any changes to your firmware in Waterlily you can not save them you have to load it straight to your player within Waterlily by pressing the Download button.

After loading all my mpx in waterlily, i click OpenLOGO tab, but nth came out. Help plz?

tadad1 16th Oct 2006 2:01 am

KidzNia, Waterlily is not fully compatible with all firmware and so some options are not available depending on your firmware.
