How to brighten a theme?
 

I have almost completely recovered my nano clone! yay!

Only trouble, the firmware that I've downloaded is quite a good little theme but is incredibly dark and hard to see. It's so dark that I have to tilt the player to be able to see anything.

is there a way to lighten it? I can't get into the menu because it's just to dark to see the writing.

What you can do is use "Firmware Modifier" (downloadable from http://www.mympxplayer.org/firmware-modifier-df17.html) to open your .bin firmware file. In there, there is a setting to increase/decrease the contrast.

Try that and let me konw of the result.

Capricious, The firmware is most likely for a player with a different screen type than yours so the wrong display driver is being used.
Have you adjusted the brightness setting as high as it will go?
The other thing you could try is FirmwareModify which is a small program that allows you to increase the brightness setting.

Load your firmware and move the brightness slider to the right, save and load the firmware to your player. This will not work on all players but worth a try.

Firmware Modify has a small bug that removes games and text reader from your firmware if you try to adjust the FM Radio setting so don,t try adjusting that.

Darn. I downloaded it, but the brightness is as high as it'll go.

Back to the hunt for firmware I go. I thought I had it!

But I'll hang on to that program... :)
