Default Recently bought 4Gb player, strange memory code though

I bought the player, recieved it and proceeded to charge the battery to its full capacity.

had a look at the cd, installed the correct software, and proceeded to connect the player to the computer, and windows recognised it

tried using media manager, no luck, tried drag and drop, no luck, the tester video im guessing the seller put on the play to test it, used to play, now it doesn't

found this site a few hours, found the list of correct memory codes, opened mine up and found this:

SAMSUNG 637
K9L8G08U0M
PCB0

now can anyone point me in the direction of the thread on the programme used to format my player to see what i have?

i can post a picture of the chip if need be!

Blaze94, Try running testdisk again and use the Analyse option to search for lost partitions.

ok this is interesting, i used testdisk straight after using it a firt time to format the player to see if the programme registered the player, it didn't

i ejected the player and left it for a while, re-attached after your previous advise with no luck

left it attached and accessed test disk which now shows the player in the list with 4168Mb/3992Mb

im not too sure what to do after i press analyse

Blaze94, It is reading the old hacked partition, go to the advanced tab, select the partition and scroll right at the bottom to the Boot option, then choose Rebuild BS.

Blaze94, Go to MBR Code and write a new master boot record to the partition. Unplug it switch it off, back on then reconnect.
