kellryth09 , have you formatted your player before? you might want to format your player with the MP3 Utilities Disk Tool or HP Format Tool. See if the 1GB comes back, else it is likely your player was hacked initially.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

kellryth09, I suspect that your player had a hacked memory chip and is only 128MB not 1GB. When you upgraded the firmware the hack was removed and now your player is reading it's true size.
To verify the size of your memory chip you will need to open your player and check the chips serial number against this list of Samsung and Hynix chips.

There is no way to get your player to read 1GB again.

Probably because a few mb are set aside for the internal softwareetc ( i.e a 1GB chip is not FULLY usable as memory as it also needs a certain amount of internal memory taken from the 1GB.

Your got conned with your player, which is a shame as most of the 1GB players I come across are indeed 1GB !

kellryth09 , whether you re-flashed in a firmware or not, and whether you see the available disk space as 1GB or 128MB, it doesn't matter. Even if you see it as 1GB, you can't store files more than 128MB. Any files copied in above the 128MB mark would have errors when you attempt to play it.
There are quite a few of threads in the forum discussing about the hacked memory by various members eg Iridium Here.

What Simonski said about the few MB being used is correct, it's set aside for the player's firmware files.

And regarding the FM chip, if your player initially had FM, you most likely can enable it. If your player do not have an FM chip, you will just get an error or restart when you attempt to run it.
