SOLVED Drag and Drop Will not work

I'm back. I think it's been 15 min since something hasnt gone wrong with my player. But really it's not my fault.

The latest is, I go to drag and drop a file and I get an error saying.
Cannot copy "name of file-song.mp3" The directory or file cannot be created. I've unplugged and tryed other things. It will still transfer picture and sometimes even some mp3 files. But the majority it says that message.

Hope you can yet again save my day.

Did you try to format the device?

Try it.

Yes I formated it. It shows that it fits 2gig or about 1.90 actually. It only allows about 560mb before telling me that.

But if I make another folder other then root, with a different name, I can put as much as I want on it.

Jordan K, the maximum a folder can support is upto 99 files per folder. This could be the source of the problem you are experiencing.
So you'll need to create multiple folders to store more files.

Yup that answers it. It's weird that these things are made with that. Anyone know why? But oh well it's an excuse to make playlists based on genere types for folder allowence.

Thanks

Re: SOLVED Drag and Drop Will not work

Jordan K , what i can think of is that probably when they designed the firmware, they only allowed the firmware to handle upto 2 digits for the file system per folder, for file pointing. Thus, anything above 99 (ie 100) is 3 or more digits and format error would occur.
