Default Format error while playing MP3

Hi everybody,
got a 2gb mp4 1,8" fake nano, I use it only for listening to music and everytime I get one or two tracks that give me a "format error".
This seem not a problem of the tracks (they change everytime) but some problem of the mp4 itself. Do you have any experience of this issue?

Thanks!

Peter Panning , you might need to re-encode those problem tracks with an MP3 encoder. It might be that tracks are in VBR (Variable Bit Rate). I'm not very sure if the player supports VBR tracks. But try re-encoding them and see if the problem solves.
Else, you might want to do a low-level format with the MP3 Utilities Disk Tool. There might be some bad sectors or maybe even hacked memory.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

I use normally vbr files , and the player handle them correctly. Plus, the problem happened with non-vbr files. as you said there could be some bad sectors somewhere, but the idea of formatting simply scares me to death - especiallly reading about formatting in this forum...

Peter Panning , formatting does not harm your player, although excessive formatting does. But unless you format your player like 100 times a day, a normal once-in-awhile format keeps your memory system healthy.
The horror stories all originate from hacked memories, so unless your player is hacked, technically you won't lose any memory space (except to bad sectors).
