[solved] How do you back-up Firmware?

I bought an MP4 player that currently has version 3.5.35 firmware.
I just wanted to be able to back-up my firmware so that i can get a new theme with no risk of getting a dead player.

Thanks :) :) :)

Re: How do you back-up Firmware?

J4 , you can read up on extracting the firmware and repairing it in the Knowledge Base Here.

You might want to upload your extracted firmware into the forum too, it'll help alot of people who are currently trying to recover their dead players. Upload link Here.

Thanks!

Is there any risks involved with this method?

J4 , so far i have not heard of anyone screwing up their players by extracting firmware. The S1fwx program is an extremely stable problem. It is totally 100% safe, so far no complains. :)

J4,

The s1fwx tool is only EXTRACTING a copy of the firmware on your player. It doesn't make any changes to your player or any files within your player. So it's safe to use it to extract the firmware of your player.

So when for any reason my player goes dead i can use the exacted firmware to fix it.

P.S Can you load themes onto firmware version 3.5.35

Thanks

J4,

Just remember to use your OWN firmware and change that.

DON'T try to use other people's firmware as you have a high chance of having a 'dead player'.

Good luck.
