Button messup

Hi, I have one of those MP3/MP4 players that look like an Ipod. Mine hasa MENU, VOL, |<< and >>| buttons.

I dont know what happened, but now the MENU button is like acting as the rewind/back button. What could have caused this?
How can I fix this?

Kaotix, Have you changed firmware? Have a look in the Downloads>Tools section there is a program called Waterlily that has an option to re-assign button keys that may help.

I have not changed firmware, as I know that, that can cause major problems. How do i use waterlilly? Do I just plug the Mp3 player into my PC, an run water lilly? or do I have to install it into the player?

Also, I found leaving it upside DOWN, with things supporting its sides, may have fixed the pproblem, as the gravitational pull is, pulling the buttons loose. Weird.

Re: Button messup

I emailed the guy who I bought it from on ebay... Should I get my money back and try to buy a different version of a Mp4 player, OR should I just get another one from him, for free? (I just send back the Mp4 player itself, and I get another one)

ALSO, my songs only play to 10 seconds, and then like automatically switch, and they are the full songs.

Anyone know why?

Kaotix, It sounds like your repeat setting is set to "Intro" which will only play the first 10sec. Set it to "Normal"
Re the player replace or refund depends on the what the seller is willing to do and what you are most comfortable with.

Re: Button messup

he said he would do both.
I dunno which to do, as I want another mp4 player, but ebay is too expensive, ( I did get that one from ebay, BUT I was very lucky), and I dont know anywhere where I can get one for less then $55 CAD/ $50 USD. (shipping costs include in payment).

But if I send it back, that wiull take 15 days to ship, and another 15 to come back. (As Im in Canada, and he ships from mayasia), and by that time, it would be Christmas, and the post office goes on holidays on the 24th to the 1st, meaning I may not get it until like the 2nd of janaury.

I may just send it all back, and get Money refunded, as he can just send me my paypal payment, while the item is shipping back, meaning I wouldnt even have to wait like 15 days, probably. (He may like give my money back before he received the item, as its on its way, and I can cancel that.)

Anyone know of any sites, that accept PAYPAL, and have mp4 players for less than $55 CAD/ $50 USD?

I'm having a similar problem, but it's more like a slight annoyance. The Volume up and down buttons are switched, so everytime I press down, the volume goes up, and vice versa. I tried to edit button configuration using Waterlily, but the option was greyed out and I didn't know how to activate it. This is a picture of my player (similar to the one taddad reviewed several months ago):

It has version 9.0.43 firmware. Anyone know how I could switch the configuration? Thanks

princessanne1026, I have a similar player and I never noticed it before as the firmware is landscape oriented so I always view it in that aspect and the vol buttons are left and right. But I know how annoying it is, when scrolling menus in landscape the direction buttons point up and down and work in the opposite way and I am always scrolling in the wrong direction.
Waterlily is the only app I know of that has button assignment options but as you have found it is not fully compatible with all firmware.
