Adding files

HELP HELP

I cannot figure out how to download files to the player. The drive shows them taking up space, the titles are listed on the player, but when I try to play them, I get a format error. What have I done wrong? I have been working on this thing for two weeks, I am about to buy a real I-Pod just so I won't appear stupid to my son. I am begging for help.

Re: Adding files

mjasgt , try a format on your player first. Use the MP3 Utilities Disk Tool (that came on the cd or downloads section) and select "LOW" level format, then in the Partition & Encrypt tab, slide the slider all the way to the left (min) and click Format.
It might be that your player's memory was hacked, thus showing the format errors. Also, check that your music files are of the right format (.MP3 .WMA .WAV) as other formats might not work properly on the player.
