Default MP4 Player not working properly

Hi, this is my first post btw...

Heres the prob: Bought a used MP4 player from a good friend of mine for 9$!
Why so cheap? Cause at the time it was a dead player it had some strange problem, you coulnt get it to turn on, or to show any sign of life... he even took the player to some professional repairsman but he coulnt do anything iether... So he sold it to me so cheap! .. now amazingly enough I got it to work (thanks to this forum in a way) and connecting pins to the chip, but heres the thing! I didnt connect it to the big samsung memory ship like shown in tutorial but in the other second biggest! and it turned on everything worked fine! I was so happy... but here's the problem... If I turn it off and on a few time or if i turn it off for like half an hour or more it wont turn on again and there are 2 ways to get it working again.. open up and connect the pins (ohh and the player needs to be connected to computer while shorting out or else it wont turn on) or the second way just plug it in the computer so it will turn on! and i can immidiatly plug it off and it will play fine until battery runs out or I turn it off again! WHY IS THAT?

I mean everything works.. but theres that glich!

My player is 1GB Ipod nano clone like outfit with the following firmware

LISONG LSD_501_02 SDK:V35.37

Heres some pics of my player http://foto.inbox.lv/marekso/MP4-Player

Marekso,
I am not sure if it is a firmware or hardware issue.
It sounds like the chip you shorted is the main chip which I would not recommend as it is more likely to suffer damage than the memory chip. This could be why you are having the problem
Are you turning it off at the power switch or by holding down the play button for a few seconds?

Marekso , might be a dead/damaged battery too. One that does not hold much charge, maybe just a couple of minutes.
Is the player actually working at this stage?

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.
