[solved] how to update the firmware and display lyrics

I recently bought an MP4 from a guy from Hong Kong.

This is how (exactly) my item is(also from sale seller) : http://cgi.ebay.com/Brand-New-4GB-MP...QQcmdZViewItem

The thing is that i don't know how to update the firmware(and i dont know what it is anyway) and how to display the lyrics from a song. I have read manuals for both with no success.

In a manual on telling you how to use the mp4 it said to long press the Play/Pause button but dong so my mp4 shuts down.

Plz help

NiTRoX, DO NOT TRY TO UPDATE YOUR FIRMWARE......... doing so is the fastest way to destroy your player.

To show lyrics you must have a lyric file for the song track. When the player recognises a song has a matching lyrics file then the lyric function will work.

There are a couple of programs for creating lyric files in the Downloads>Tools section. When you have made them load them to the same folder as the music tracks.

Re: how to update the firmware and display lyrics

I know. When a song has a lyric file the woed "lyric" appears in a shape in the bottom left of the screen. I have two songs that came with the mp4 and i want to try them(they are both with lyrics). The thing is that I don't know how.

Any ideas?

Your nanoclone have the same features as mine (and tons of others' I guess). If it works like mine, to access to the lyric mode, you have to press and hold the Menu button, not the Play/Pause button (which indeed will turn it off).
Again, if your clone works like mine, you should be able to have some infos about the firmware entering the "System" tab, and selecting the "Firmware" option. You might have to scroll all the way down, since it could appear on a "second page".
Hope it works, and good luck.

Thanks it worked!!!

Now anyone know from where I can download .lrc songs? :)

I'm glad you solved your problem. As for site where to download .lrc files, there are quite a few, just google around. For example, I just found one here.

ok thanks!

One last question...
How do I change the firmware and theme of my MP4?

Tutorials on this site didn't work or I'm dumb.

One word to the wise, dont change the firmware, unless you have some sort of compulsive need to do so and have a minimum of skill.
If indeed you do, well, first off find out what version of firmware you have, and then follow the tutorials, they are quite accurate. Try this.
As for the theme, you can find many in the download section.

And how do I change the theme? Do I need any programs?

a... and yesterday I left my MP4 connected to the charger for the whole night but it only seems it charged only half/quarter of the battery. Why does this happen?

(When i connect it it the charger lit an red LCD light and in the morning I found it green)
