my computer doesn't recognize my player (due to bad unplug?)

hello

i apologize if this topic has been adressed already.

well, my pc doesn't detect my mp4 player and all i think that could be the cause was a previous bad unplug, i mean, i didn't ejected properly from windows, just pulled the usb cord. i think that may have screwed it up.

any suggestions?

red_guy, Try a different usb port, preferably one you have not used the player on before.
When you connect your player and run the MP3 Upgrade tool does it detect your player?
Do you have a backup of your firmware?

red_guy,

Have you tried plugging your player into another USB port on your computer just in case?

What you can also try is plugging into another computer to see if that detects your player.

You could have a problem with a number of things: USB cable is dodgy, the USB connector on your player is dodgy or the USB port is not very good on your computer.

I would think it's a USB cable as there has been a few problems similar to yours and they seem to be resolved by using another USB cable instead.

Anyhow, try those and see if that helps.

admin,
i have tried plugging into my other usb port and in another 2 computers: no go.

the player shows that it is connected, but the computer wouldn't detect it, otherwise than that it works 100% healthy.

i'll try changing the usb cable.
if that doesn't work what else could be failing?

thanks...
