YM5387WZSZB 2GB MP4 player problem
 

Hi, i've just bought this iPod lookalike 2GB MP4 player from a store in China.

The problem is when i put songs in the player, it duplicates folders and files with wierd filenames and symbols. :shock: Then i reformatted it with FAT32 and FAT and tried copying mp3s. But when i play the songs, it could only get past about 12 tracks out of 20 tracks. It crashes and restarts everytime i try to get past track 12. :(

Issit a known problem, how can i fix it? Should i try to extract the firmware and reinstall it? i'm new to this, please help...

nicad , what i'll suggest is to perform a format on your player first. There is a guide on doing this Here.

Next, once formatted, extract and repair the existing firmware in your player. The guide is Here.

Now, keep a copy of the repaired firmware safely. Using it, re-flash it back into your player. The guide is Here.

See if these steps solves the problems.
