Finally a tool to backup 9.0.43 Firmware
For those wanting to extract the firmware from their 9.0.43 (possibly 9.0.xx series) players this version of ATJUpload 4.0 Beta seems to do the trick.
I have tested it on 2 different players using 9.0.43 firmware and both dump files have worked without problem. The extracted dump can be used without repairing. EDIT: "Ramautet" has reported getting a "access error message" when trying to extracting 9.0.48 firmware, and his player reset so use with caution. http://img297.imageshack.us/img297/892/atjuploadxf7.jpg DOWNLOAD "This is a Beta version program and as such may still contain bugs so use at your own risk." |
Re: Finally a tool to backup 9.0.XX Firmware
Could someone please post a firmware file from an atj2091h mp4 if its possible to extract one using this tool Im trying to recover my dead player
Detailed info Ipod Fake 1.5" screen cpu atj2091h memory Samsung k9lagu8u0m Player was originally bought from E-bay player was hacked to show 4gb if I remember correctly the firware version installed was 9.0.98 I have not seen anyone post anything regarding this firmware so I could be wrong original firmware might have been 9.0.48 startup screen had the ocean and palm trees low batt or shutdown if this sounds like your player please send me a copy of your firmware to brianlightfoot@gmail.com |
Sounds like my clone. Which has the 9.0.48 firmware. But as you can read in the main topic, when I tried to extract the firmware, it gave me an error and hard reset the player (no loss of data, though)
|
I tried again, to see if I could help you, but really there's no way I can extract my firmware with it.

Re: Finally a tool to backup 9.0.XX Firmware
Hi,
I finally tested your soft (even if it is BETA  ) on my Glacier mp4 (9.0.43 ) => Succed ! My player stoped and started again alone at the end of the process. No data loss, This is not really a "hard reset" as write Ramautet because all setings are saved, even time set is still good... Cool ! :P tadad1, do you know now witch buttons to press to upload a saved firmware ? is there for now a soft to modify startup/and screens or anything else with the 9.0.43 ? (because currently s1res doesn't work with this firmware) Thanks. Lejigabou. |

Lejigabou, s1res modifies the 1.8 version of the 9.0.43 firmware but seems to have a problem with the 2.0 inch version. I think this may be a limitation on the image sizes that s1res can handle as the smaller images can be changed but it seems to have trouble reading images larger than 160x128.
|
Ok, s1res works with full 9.0.43 firmwares but only to change Battery icons or such small pictures.
I search something to modify startup/and screens. Does a certain "Waterly" (or some mane like this) works to do it with 9.0.43 ? If it do not. Is there any risk to change my firmware for another FULL firmware ? (I can't stand anymore the UK queen soldier on my startup screen. On the power down screen I have a magician and it is more cool) Lejigabou |
hello
i have 9.0.48 is it risky to use this and change the theme? or is it safe would it damage my player? |
i get the same error as Ramautet i have 9.0.48

Yes but you must have a player with a display UNDER 2.0inch, right ?
Tadad1 explained that s1res wasn't able to manage correctly picture larger than 160x128. Snif  Who know if I can exchange firmware by another FULL firmware without risks ? Does anybody have a Glacier (2.0inch / 9.0.43 / 2Go+fm) to help me ? |
yes, you're right, I didn't realized that images over 160x128 couldn't be edited.. ^^
|
i can't backup or extract my firmware :<
im just tired of the current theme, :< |
Lejigabou, I thought you had gone to Bed :)
s1res even has the problem with any full version 2.0 inch firmware that I have loaded to it. I would not recommend trying to change firmware. I will look around and see what else I can find. |
So cool, Thanks a lot !
It would be nice from you. LOL => I go to bed, my girlfriend will kill me (my boss too) 3h12 AM here in France ! Bye ! |
Apparently the program doesnt work only with 9.0.48. Any chance there some other program around or about that could allow unfortunate fellas like xeongx and me to extract their firmware?
|
Ramautet, Were working on it.

hello people
my player is dead it doesnt turn on anymore i dunno wats wrong last night when i tried to extract the firmware, i did it, when it was finished i disconnected the player after that it was off i turned it on, it took much longer to turn on, and hte screen was a bit darker, so i charged it, and now im at school i tried to turn it on, but it doesnt turn on i will write more when i get home. is there any chance it wouldnt turn on anymore ? :< :< :< :< :< :< :< :< :< :< :< :< |
xeongx,
Please post your message in the "Dead Players" section. There is also a "Dead Player Recovery Guide" in that section that will guide you through recovering your player from a dead state. |
problem solved
:> it works now seems that the battery emptyed it self i dunno how and why ??????????????// it didnt turn on cuz it didnt even have battery to show the no battery sign now it works and everything is fine :> |
Re: Finally a tool to backup 9.0.43 Firmware
LOL ! It's better like this, happy for you !
|
is it possible that the battery was suck by the computer while the computer was off?
cuz the player was connected the whole night |
Maybe cause to plug the link in the player (without plug the other side in the PC) drain slightly power !
It awake the player at least... cause it will try to etabish communication to the PC ! |
that was happening the whole night
anyways its working great now im just too happy :> |
Re: Finally a tool to backup 9.0.43 Firmware
I found the "problem" with those 2" images and s1res. S1MP3 resource files contain a 16bit entry for the size of each resource item. An 2" icon needs 0x12E84 (=17bit) instead which doesn't fit into. In this case, they just store 0x0010 as the resource size (in bytes). s1res believes this information and detects a very small b/w image.
i'll soon bring up another version of s1res. needs another dirty patch to support their dirty firmware patches! regards, wiRe (s1mp3.de) |
Re: Finally a tool to backup 9.0.43 Firmware
Wooaaa
Incredible ! DANKE wiRe ! Your site is cool. Ladys and gentlemens, wiRe is the hexadecimal editor's king ! :P I'll try the new version and let you a feedback about it... Lejigabou |
Re: Finally a tool to backup 9.0.43 Firmware
does this mean u will make the update version so i can extract my frimware 9.0.48 ?????
|
Re: Finally a tool to backup 9.0.43 Firmware
sorry, seems like i have posted to the wrong thread. i meant an update for s1res, the resource editor. to support larger images (larger than 65535 bytes).
s1fwx maybe only get updated to support v9.0.43 (extract ADFUFxxx.BIN directly from BROM). since i work on another tool which extracts directly from the flash, its not used to do. you will soon have a new tool which could extract and backup firmwares from any player which is able to upload code via ADFU (actually any known players). |
wiRe, Thanks for all your work on this "wiRe" it is most appreciated. I look forward to the new tool :).
|
wiRe,
Welcome to the site and thanks for providing such a great tool! I don't know what we'll do without. |

I get exactly the same message when i run the program, seems it doesnt work for our players or what? |
Hi everyone just to let you know that "wiRe" the creator of s1res and s1fwx is constantly working to overcome these problems and upgrade his apps so that we the users can backup, theme and recover our players but it takes time and a lot of work on his part, if you have ever used s1fwx or s1res and themed or recovered your player show your support by making a donation on his web site at www.s1mp3.de .
If it were not for his efforts there would be a mountain of dead chiPods with crappy waterlily themes. :) |
can someone ask him how long would it take for that to happend?
or if there is a way i can put 9.0.43 or something on my 9.0.48 player so i can change the theme thnx |
xeongx,
Best to wait until a stable version is released. The last thing you want is to have a 'dead' player. Enjoy your player now and think about modding it alittle later on when the tool is ready. Don't risk having a dead player by using an incompatible firmware to mod your player with. |
WHER CAN I DL THE LINK FOR BACKUPTOOL
|
