start ommiting voice just like karaoke while playing mp3s
 

I have bought an I-Platinum mini MP3/ MP4 player however the other day whilst playing MP3's it decided to start ommiting the lead voice just like a karaoke machine but can't find out how to reverse to normal sound. Can anyone help me?????!

Seaking101 , try use another set of earphones first. See if the problem still occurs.
If it still persists, when playing the music and earphone plugged in, try applying some gentle force on the plug in all directions. If you hear intermittent clear music and the problem you mentioned, likely that the earphone jack solder has come broken/loosen off.

Thanks for advise but this has no effect on sound.
Would it be feasable to format and install new firmware?
If so how do I go about doing it?

Seaking101 , you can try a format on your player using the MP3 Utilities Disk Tool. The guide is Here.
Perhaps you can also try with other mp3 files that you have (do they have the same problem?).

Never ever "upgrade" firmware, you'll find out that it is faster to kill your player this way, than to throw it out of a 10-storey building.

I'll suggest that if after a format, the problem still occurs, contact your seller for an exchange.
