Default reviving old memory

i have a 2gb mp4 player. ive only had it for 3 days. first day i had it i put a bunch of music on it. day 2 i put a bunch more music on it. when i went to play songs, i kept reverting back to the menu. ive read someone else say the hourglass effect. oh i failed to mention i filled up the memory. well, i deleted everything off the player and tried to put more on, memorys still full. well i read somewhere that i may need to reformat the player to clear the memory. so i did, and i followed the instructions exactly. well after completing the instructions i only have 470mb. now i can only put like 5 cds on this. :x . im soo frustrated. im ready to throw it. but i have like 2 days to figure something out or i can get a refund. please please someone help me.

my firmware version (p.s. whats firmware) ops:

culnirvana2, Your player most likely has a 512MB memory chip that was hacked to read 2GB. Formating the player you have removed the hack and your player is showing it's true size. the problems you were having are because you were transfering more data than the player has room for causing file corruption and player restarts when you try to access the bogus files.
I suggest you return your player for a full refund.
