steve67 , another important thing to do is to Format your player.
Currently there are no 4GB nano-clones. Only 2GB is the maximum.
The guide to formatting is Here.
This formatting will also recombine both drives into a single drive.
If the memory size drops too low after the formatting, you might want to consider a refund from your seller, as the maximum you can get is 2GB.
