do you have access to another computer? if so try it on the other computer and if it work then theres either something wrong with your usb ports or computer. also try another usb device like another mp3 player or a flash drive

Tried it Didnt work, I tested on 3 different machines, same problem.. i even tried on a different OS same issue..

Just to confirm:

1. You've tried on multiple machines already?
2. You've tried a different USB cable right?

Then it could either the USB connection on the player or the board itself that's causing this issue.

If the USB device doesn't get detected in Windows XP and after trying multiple computers and USB cables, then it would seem that the problem is with the player itself.

I would suggest you contact UXcell (did you buy it from UXcell?) and I'm sure they'll be able to help you sort out the problem.

USB connector on these ChIpods is a piece of Sh... I've the same problem twice.. Just open it, take a (small) soldering iron and remake the weldings (alta vista from french translation .. sorry) of the USB connector. It will go on!!
