Default MP4 player can't detect MTV files

Hi, i've had a customer who recentely bought one of my mp4 nano look alikes.

Now the problem is that she went to mp3 player disk tool and she clicked start on the format part of the disk tool. Now all her files are gone. Anyways she put all the songs back on the to the removable disk drive, but when she tried to put a video in the drive the mp4 says there are no videos in the movie folder when she opens it. But when she checks the removable disk there is surely a video in the folder. So the problem is the mp4 can't detect the files. Please i need a solution asap thank you=]

Qrazi3BoO, Have a look in the settings menu of the player and let me know what the firmware version is.
What format are the videos being copied to the player?

Default MP4 player can't detect MTV files

Qrazi3BoO,

Try telling your customer to create a folder called "MTV" instead.

I have a 1.2" LCD player which supports MTV and it needs a folder called "MTV" and videos will play once they are in that folder.

Qrazi3BoO,
Try storing the video file on the root of the player not in a folder.
Connect the player and right click on it in Explorer and select properties. Is the player use Fat or Fat32 file system?
If Fat32 format to Fat.
Although MTV format is not uncommon in Action chip players the most common video format used is AMV.
Download a sample AMV file from the download section here:http://www.mympxplayer.org/medium-dc11.html and see if it is recognised by the player.

Qrazi3BoO, When you connect your player and open it in Explorer you enter the root directory. It is like C:\ drive on your PC. So rather than put the video into a folder copy it directly to the player. Did you get a sample video with the player? If so does it play? what format is it .amv, .mtv, .smv....

hi i have bse7ven-890 mp4 player, obviously china made, i have the same problem.. the cd that comes with the player doesnt work so i downloaded same mp3 player utility v3.68 with amv converter after converting an avi file to amv and transfered it to the player, i thought it will work but unfortunately it didn't, actually it doesnt see the vid file when i go the movie section of the player. the file can be seen on the mp4 explorer but when i try to play it won't play either...

the manual say it plays amv...

the mp4 also comes with an .avi file (sample file) which plays fine
