Uninstall MP3 Utilities and another version available?
Hi guys... I'm Pablo from argentina, first: sorry... my english isn't good, so I hope you can understand to me...
I have a question; last week I bought a mp3 player... I've installed "the mp3 players tool", but my Avg antivirus says that this soft contain a virus, I wanted to uninstalled it, but I could not... I read the threads that mentioned how to uninstalled here, but I can't. the version of the software is 3.5.02, do you know what can i do?... And the second question is if you know another soft to convert to amv or mtv (no mp3 player tool), 'cause my avg doesn't admit that working it well... Thanks a lot and hope you understood... |
try a dif download o nthe site,
but other than that its not a virus |
Re: Questions...
Actually there were more people reporting trojans in the software, that came with players bought off ebay. Maybe you could try another antivirus program like avira classic, also free, I prefer it over avg.
Google helps! Have you tried starting the computer in safe mode, and remove the software then? |
pablo_cba, You need to delete the installation manually as follows:
Delete the folder from the Program Files folder then open regedit and got to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Uninstall. You will find a series of subfolders with alpha numeric names like this {7784A172-61F1-445E-8368-601607E0DD22} click on each one until you find the entry related to MP3 Player Utilities 3.5.02 displayed in the right panel, then delete this folder. Then do the same here HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Installer\Pro ducts\ You should now be able to install a new version. This method works on all versions so you should not have any problems. I have put together a trojan free install of version 3.68 here: http://www.mympxplayer.org/amv-conve...-mb-df327.html |
Thanks a lot guys! but i can't download the program, there isn't a link that works Tadad1

I just downloaded it from the link above with no problem. If you are using a download accelerator you need to disable it to use Rapidshare. |
Here is another link
