Bought a 4GB mp4 player. Is it a fake?
The player has not arrived yet, but I'm afraid now, a lot of people says that it is not 4GB, someone can see if it's true? here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...6235&rd=1&rd=1
if it is fake, please can someone explain to me what I can do, It was my first buy from Ebay, I'm from Brazil and I'll be very sad if it is really fake. =( thanks |
Hi, it is definately NOT 4 gigabyte, they don't sell/make nano clones with that large memory yet. You will be scammed, or you already are. Try to get a statement (email) that the player is really 4 gigabytes (GB), and not 4 gigabits (Gb). You can start an ebay- and paypal complaint and demand your money back, if it turns out a hacked player.

Re: Plese someone help me
robsonc , the seller e-britain, if i'm not wrong someone posted about him selling hacked players. And the item location is not in the UK but Hong Kong.
i'll suggest you do what Que had suggested and prepare to file a case against him via ebay/paypal. |
Re: Bought a 4GB mp4 player. Is it a fake?
   The problem now is that the iten has not arrived, and when it arrives i will have to pay a tax, because the iten is from outside the country, and if it is fake, I don't want it, Who is goig to pay the taxes now? and the shipping back?
thanks you guys |
robsonc, If you do not claim the delivery the package will either be destroyed or sent back to the sender and they will have to pay the return costs.
|
But here comes the problem again.
If the seller pays for the return postage, or if it is destroyed since no-one wants to pay the taxes or return postage. It would be very difficult to make a claim with ebay and paypal. I'm not sure about the policy regarding this import tax. You might end up paying for the item, and not even receiving the item and not getting any refund for it. |

Robsonc, if you get the player, and the size is projected wrong: specially when it is showing 4 gigabytes, which is proof itself of a hack, then contact the seller, tell him about the hack, the corruption of files put over the real memory size border, and go for a refund. Don't let him trick you with the gigabit / gigabyte story, he uses capital letters GB, thus gigabytes.
EDIT: when the postman comes, you better take it. Seller will get notice of the refusal, and it will either cost you the postage back, plus a restocking fee, which the seller will make up. Lost money anyhow. Wait with feedback after some settlement. The seller might not want to do anything about it at all after negative feedback, and will just put something like "please contact us, we will settle" below your feedback. |
If it's any consolation I just sent the guy a message telling him that selling hacked MP4 players on Ebay is illegal and I would encourage everyone else to do the same.
Just report ALL of his illegal auctions to Ebay and they will pull every one of them down and then suspend him. |
Re: Bought a 4GB mp4 player. Is it a fake?
Looks just like the one I just bought.... said 4 GB, showed 4GB. But after I loaded some songs I had to reformat it because of error messages. True size was then shown as 2 GB, so I took it apart and it had a 2GB Samsung memory chip in it. K9LAG08U0M is printed on the chip, which is a 2GB.
