Bought a 4GB mp4 player. Is it a fake?

The player has not arrived yet, but I'm afraid now, a lot of people says that it is not 4GB, someone can see if it's true? here http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...6235&rd=1&rd=1

if it is fake, please can someone explain to me what I can do, It was my first buy from Ebay, I'm from Brazil and I'll be very sad if it is really fake. =(

thanks

Hi, it is definately NOT 4 gigabyte, they don't sell/make nano clones with that large memory yet. You will be scammed, or you already are. Try to get a statement (email) that the player is really 4 gigabytes (GB), and not 4 gigabits (Gb). You can start an ebay- and paypal complaint and demand your money back, if it turns out a hacked player.

Re: Plese someone help me

robsonc , the seller e-britain, if i'm not wrong someone posted about him selling hacked players. And the item location is not in the UK but Hong Kong.
i'll suggest you do what Que had suggested and prepare to file a case against him via ebay/paypal.

robsonc, If you do not claim the delivery the package will either be destroyed or sent back to the sender and they will have to pay the return costs.

lattesurf 15th Dec 2006 7:38 am

But here comes the problem again.
If the seller pays for the return postage, or if it is destroyed since no-one wants to pay the taxes or return postage.

It would be very difficult to make a claim with ebay and paypal. I'm not sure about the policy regarding this import tax.

You might end up paying for the item, and not even receiving the item and not getting any refund for it.

.... :| :| yep, oh my, I don't know what to do, i'm thinking in just pick up the mp4 and forget it... I don't know why everything goes wrong with me... I will let a negative feedback, but I don't think this will help much.... thanks again guys, you helped a lot, really.

Robsonc, if you get the player, and the size is projected wrong: specially when it is showing 4 gigabytes, which is proof itself of a hack, then contact the seller, tell him about the hack, the corruption of files put over the real memory size border, and go for a refund. Don't let him trick you with the gigabit / gigabyte story, he uses capital letters GB, thus gigabytes.
EDIT: when the postman comes, you better take it. Seller will get notice of the refusal, and it will either cost you the postage back, plus a restocking fee, which the seller will make up. Lost money anyhow. Wait with feedback after some settlement. The seller might not want to do anything about it at all after negative feedback, and will just put something like "please contact us, we will settle" below your feedback.

If it's any consolation I just sent the guy a message telling him that selling hacked MP4 players on Ebay is illegal and I would encourage everyone else to do the same.

Just report ALL of his illegal auctions to Ebay and they will pull every one of them down and then suspend him.

Re: Bought a 4GB mp4 player. Is it a fake?

Looks just like the one I just bought.... said 4 GB, showed 4GB. But after I loaded some songs I had to reformat it because of error messages. True size was then shown as 2 GB, so I took it apart and it had a 2GB Samsung memory chip in it. K9LAG08U0M is printed on the chip, which is a 2GB.

Hi folks, the MP4 arrive today and it is not 4GB I think it is only 1GB   at least if it were 2GB I would be happy.... I had to pay absurd taxes, I bought the MP4 for 65 dollars, and the taxes were 160 reais, that is equal to 72 dollars, just for the taxes it was 72 dollars!!!!!! more than the mp4 and it is this shi* of mp4, just 1GB    I want to suicide..... I will never buy anything on thge internet again

I will not send it back because of the taxes.... it do not compensates, so I will try to have my money back without send the MP4 back to the seller, but I don't think he will agree with that...

thanks for the people who trid to help me.

You can demand 3/4 of your money back because you only got 3/4 memory, awfull about that taxes, but that is the government's doing. Make a complaint at ebay and paypal (if you used it). If paypal is used with a credit card, you can even use the credit card company to get your money back. I would. Don't go suicide over this yet, worse things will come along in life, but better things too. Next time try Uxcell, the sponsor here on the forum, or house of dap. Better players, fair shippnig prices.

deepakrr 23rd Jan 2007 10:50 pm

you should definitely make a complaint with ebay and paypal and also sent an email to the seller demanding a refund. you have paid a lot of money and you deserve something much better than what you got.

this is over ridiculous and unfair
