Default Songs

I have a 256 mb mp4 player. For some strange reason only 50 mb can be used for storing songs.

Is there any method i can reduce the song file size without reducing the quality?

Anyways I am gonna buy a new one soon but for the meanwhile, your tips on reducing song file sizes will be helpful.

Thanks

Hi, if your player supports ogg files, they sound clearer than mp3, at a lower bitrate. Mp3 at 128kb is not very good, sounds dull, no high or low, just middle, so to speak. With ogg the sound stays more clear, transparant, different instruments are better to hear, But if your player doesn't support it, nothing to do. I saw your post, you are looking for a new player. You might want to check uxcell.com. $5 shipping worldwide, players like the Glacier support ogg files. Seems to relate with firmware above a certain version. My Firmware is 9.0.48, chip ACT2097_S75. Most people are happy with theirs, I just got unlucky I guess because I got 2 that suffer from distortion when recording from radio.

Can't complain about the shipping, ordered 29th of november, payed with paypal, postman came 8th of december, Hongkong to Holland, not bad. They are trustworthy, it's a factory with a webshop, I think. The startup animation of my glacier is the uxcell logo.

thanks que for your valuable help but my dad declined to buy it for me.

i can understand his problem since I am in India and they will apply the import tax duties and the price may get doubled or somewhere near it.

can you have a look at this and suggest if i should go for it
