Default 8GB to 2gb?

I have a 8gb nano style from EBAY and it worked fine with 5Gb of music on it, until I used the toolpack from on here, with the disk manager tool. That tool single handedly wipe out my partition table and fragged all hopes of recovering the memory, unless someone out there has the tool to recover all of it. It formats under XP with 7.99 GB and now I got a 2 gb with this crapass tool. You figure it out.,

Also why hasn't anyone reverse engineered the firmware and written anything that completely sets up a new Os>?[hr:8780e00b4f]I hate your help

Dude

You NEVER had a 8G player to begin with! They do not exist. Your player falsely loaded 6G and if you were to have played songs from the last files to load they would not have played properly. You cannot get your player to have more Gig of memory than the chip is capable of. (But you can fool it with hacking firmware programs) If you dont believe the folks here than prove it to yourself..... open the unit and check the Memory chip part number against the manufacture's data sheet from a list found elsewhere on this site.

CHODE, As "avionik99" has pointed out anything over 2GB in these players is a fake with a hacked memory chip. The tool you used has removed the hack and now you player is reading it's true size.
There is a list of chip numbers and their sizes Here:

A blacklist of traders selling these players here:

Detailed findings here:

Re the firmware s1mp3.org have been working on an open source firmware replacement (SWAN) for over 12 months you may like to check their wiki and site for details.

You should hate your own ignorance, and fast jumping to conclusions when not having a clue what you're talking about. Be thankful for people trying to help you.

I think our new member CHODE might be an eBay seller

I have asked him to post some images of his 8GB chip as i have never witnessed a true miracle but so close to Christmas anything could happen.

Yeah I guess you're right, just not a lot of proof other than his refunds I guess. Sorry about the hate your help part but use it first thing in conversation and people don't mess" with you to turn a phrase, just say it.

Yeah the same email addy was used when I bought from Blown Z with 2 mp4 video players, and when I went to buy a sidekick 2 danger from that email I got a super scratched one, I tried to get a refund but I was too late, I was in a hospital for a week and couldn't return his message.

But I do say, I got a printer and a possibly water damaged phone, I just need to purchase a charger and paint it and It might work. Perhaps..
Thanks for your help guys, I'm getting a nice CHristmas present this year...
