cardinalbird , besides the memory drop to 128MB, is the player still working properly? The music, video and radio all plays properly?

Unfortunately, your memory chip Hynix HY27UF081G2M is a 1Gigabit memory chip. Which is 128MegaBytes in size.
The memory chip was hacked to show that it is a 4GB player. The format that you have performed removed the memory hack to reveal the true size of the memory chip.

Why are clones called MP4 Players, when they don`t play .MP4 at all?
It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

Hi lettesurf!
Thank for your reply!
That's right! my player is sill working properly. In your reply it means I must use it with 128 mb? and no way to change its size?

Yes, no way to change its size! And I'll bet its not a Sony either... If you bought it on eBay, see my new eBay guide if you want to find out exactly what happened to you and what your recourse might be.... (and dont forget to vote it useful!):

See the thread here about formatting your player if you haven't done so. See your seller ASAP if you can, to get your money back! 128MB is useless these days, AFAIC.
