Having problems scrolling through and indentifying songs
 

I have a ipod-like MP4 player made by Visual land and on the front of the Mp4 player is a single V and the code VL-557.

My firmware info is 9.0.50 2006/10/30

When im playing a song from my root folders song list and i want to choose a new song song from the list by pressing pause and then the menu button it dousent send me back to my song list. It starts me over and sends me all the way back to the local folder. So anyway when i select local folder it starts me back at the beginning of my playlist witch is very annoying. I have to deal with this over and over agein every single time i want to scroll my song list :( . Also i cant tell witch song is witch when scrolling through my song list because all of my music has the artist's name befor the acuel name of the song in the title and for some reson the mp4 player onley shows half of the name of the song and cuts off. So i cant tell witch song is witch


Is there any way to fix the problem im having. Im gessing i maybe could upgrade my firmware or somthing or maybe somthing els thanks.

HUnter, Do not try to upgrade your firmware as it will not fix the annoyance and will most likely brick your player.
Track selection has always been one of the biggest shortcomings of these players. The ability to browse for specific files was only added 6 or 8 months ago and is still not included on all players. Before it's inclusion you could only choose a folder to play.
The features you are looking for are really only available in name brand players at 2 to 3 times the price.

Yeah HUnter...like tadad said, there is no way to fix that problem. Also, the songs in the menu are showing only half of their name coz the player doesnt scrool the name...The best thing u can do is shorten the name of the artist (Michael Jackson - Beat It = MJ-BeatIt).
This is how i 'fix' the name showing problem. Also shorter filename is better for showing the lyrics.
