getting fustrated need help please

Ok I really wish that I found this site before I thought about buying an MP4 player on Ebay...
Here is the item I purchased...
[web:e2c586e5ce]http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=008&sspagename=STRK%3AME WN%3AIT&viewitem=&item=180064589676&rd=1&rd=1[/web:e2c586e5ce]
I actually bought 2 of them the first for my daughter for christmas then 2 days later another one for myself with out fully testing hers...

I have read through the forums and formatted my MP4 to find out it is not a 4GB but a 256MB I have downloaded utilities but still am having difficulties of not being able to download movies (which it is supposed to play) I either get a format error after I download or I get an error before I download from the media manager.
My chip inside reads...
Samsung 619
K9F2GO8UOM
PCB0

Firmware is B806KV1.3

I have not updated the firmware as I am scared to have a dead MP4/3

I also emailed the seller and she wants to send back both players for a refund so she can deal with the manufacturer... but wants original shipping stuff an packaging... One player is already wrapped and under tree with our christmas 2 days away and as for original shipping containers.... I'm sure they already got tossed.
So what can be done in making these work as according to her and her feedback she has never had any complaints..

dawniec99, Did the player come with a sample video if so what format is it?
If you go into settings on the player what other information is included in the Firmware Version info?
The packaging generally refers to the box the player came in.
She has got 100% feedback but then most people place feedback before they run into problems with hacked players.

To be honest if you can send them back I would as a 256MB player is pointless.

Re: getting fustrated need help please

I deleted the video as it was in japanese and I could not understand it... I did this before I realized I was going to have issues with it... I have been trying to put an amv file for the video Im now trying and avi but the file is too large that way... I guess I really should send them back... I did email everyone who bought from her on both auctions I did to see if they too had issues... what a sad christmas this will be as 1 of them is a present for my daughter and its all wrapped under the tree...

dawniec99, If it is a 9.0.43 then it is an AMV format player. Generally the format error can be overcome by lowering the frame rate of your conversions. What size is your players screen and what version of MP3 Player Utilities are you using?

Screen is 1.8 in diag and utilities is 4.07

dawniec99, Ok despite the fact that 4.07 has a setting for 160x120 it actually encodes the video to 176x128 which is why your player is chucking a wobbly.
For 160x120 you can use 4.0 but i prefer 3.57 set up as follows because you can adjust the settings if you need to where as in 4.0 you can't.

you can furthur improve the quality of your conversions by pre-processing your video with VirtualDub before putting them through the AMV Converter.

You can download 3.57 here
