usb mass storage device

i got an player mp4 (name mp4 digital player).
Mine pc recognizes it as "usb mass storage device" and not as adfu server device as told in this guide :
http://www.mympxplayer.org/dead-play...ide-vt567.html
I also tried to force to add the drivers (the red section of the guide) with no success. What shall i do ?

When i try to load the adfuupdate.inf it says : 'the specifieded location does not contain information for your player'

PS: I did not upgraded the firmware of the player

Thx

Get the MP3 player Product Tool 4.19 from the download section. Don't install it, only extract it. I has an adfuUpdate.inf in it's folder that worked for me, after I had the same trouble.

It didn't work for me installing it through device manager like in the guide, I installed it when windows found new hardware, and that worked.

kitsaros2000, When it is connected what happens when you try to load firmware to your player?

kitsaros2000 24th Dec 2006 12:30 am

are you kidding ? im not going to do that ! the player is recognized only on one pc i have tried to connect it to 8 more and is recognized as "usb mass storage device" thats all .

With tadad's suggestion, by reloading your player's firmware back onto the player, will give you a good chance to 'recover' your player and therefore making it more likely to be recognised as a "removable device", which is what you want and to get it working the way it should be.

Hello !
its me again !
I tried that player on over 8 pcs . It works only in one system that has winxp with SP1 and USB 1.1 (it is an old system) .

In the working system i have these drivers >
--------------------------------------------------
usb mass storage device
Location 0 (USB 2.0(HS) Flash Disk )
date 1/7/2001
version 5.1.2600.0
usbstor.sys
5.1.2600.1106 xpsp1.020828-1920
--------------------------------------------------
storage volumes
generic volume
on USB 2.0 (HS) Flash Disk USB Device
1/7/2001 5.1.2600.0
volsnap.sys
5.1.2600.0 xpclient.010817-1148

Ps the player is new ... i did not flashed it in

I found over the internet ( http://www.moviecodec.com/topics/16101p1.html ) that it might has to do with windows media player but i already unisntalled it (rollbacked) but with no success.

On the only system that works i have win sp1 with media player 8 !!!

Any help ?
