Charging cycle
I have one of the very small, very slim 2GB 1.5in MPX players. The firmware version states: 2005/03/15 3.5.35 2006/03/31 KTT688_V4. It has a UK mains charger.
Either I am having charging problems similar to many other people who have come to this site, or it is just taking a very long time. I did not realise originally the main power switch had to be ON to charge the battery. After I did, I left it charging overnight. The next morning, the green light on the charger was off and the battery appeared to be charged. The next time, I left it charging for hours and the battery charge level was unchanged afterwards. What is supposed to happen when you connect the charger and switch it on? When I connect mine to the charger it shows "connected" and the battery charge animation happens, even when no power is applied. When I switch on power to the charger, the light goes green, but if I wiggle the USB connector I note that the charger LED can also go yellow and red. How do I know when charging is actualy happening and when it is complete? How long should charging take? |
jules , as far as possible, avoid using the AC adaptor for charging. These adaptors are known for "frying" some of this forum member's players.
Use the computer to charge your player. And if you really need to use the AC adaptor, limit it to about approximately 3 hours of charge time. A full charge generally takes about 3 hours and gives you at least 3-4hours of playtime with all the power saving features on. |
