Do you mean DISK error, or is it a FORMAT error?
I only ask because a format error implies that you have the usual cracked player that will only take a few Mb of data before being overloaded... I suggest that you follow the guides to remove memory hack, format your player and see exactly what memory you have and then you will know if you are overloading a hacked player, or if you have a faulty player that needs return or repair. It does seem to be a case of the usual memory overload caused by a hacked memory chip... HTH.. Dave

962mb seems to be ok because formatting and system files make the difference.

So to confirm, after formatting, it fixes the "disk error" messages right? Then a few days later, it comes back on again? Durin those days, have you changed, add, remove any of the files stored in your player?

Definately take daveislander's advice and follow the guide on how to remove a hack just in case your player has been hacked.

What you can also do is a checkdisk on your player's drive from Windows to see if it fixes any possible corruptions in the memory sectors and blocks.

It could well be that the physical memory block has some bad sectors on it. I know I've had one MP3 player that had a bad memory block.

Like admin said, 962mb is normal. Not just for a player but for any formatted disk on a computer. That space that is used is the system files that make the drive usable.
