Default need help updating/downgrading firmware

ok i wanna change the theme of my mp4 player
in the mp3 player firmware upgrade tool program it shows this:
Device name: LISONG Mp3 player
Productor: Wilson Co. Ltd.
Version: 9.0.48
technically my screen is 1inch big, but the width of the whole player is 1.5inches

now ive searched around and ive found out that i cant dump my current version.

How can i change my player's theme if i cant dump/edit my firmware?
Also, what is the difference between the firmware for 1.5inch and 1.8 inch player?
Last, what is the difference between the 9.x.xx firmwares and the 3.x.xx ones?

1. for the time being, you cant change the theme of your player unless a new version of s1res is released.

2. the pictures in the firmware are bigger lol.

3. 3.x.xx are supported by s1res.

someone else will give you proper answers for 2 and 3 question

sswajeta , most importantly, do not update or upgrade your firmware. It will most likely kill your player. The current S1fwx tool only supports extraction upto ver9.0.43.

You can't do much to your theme until the tool is developed for your firmware version. So just hang on there.

Between 1.5" and 1.8", usually the basic firmware is about the same. The main difference is the driver file for the screen display is different.

There are basically no significant difference between the 9.xx and 3.xx series firmwares. Maybe the newer versions might have a few more games and probably a slightly nicer interface.

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

sswajeta, The problem is with the firmware extraction tool, at present it will not successfully extract any firmware above 9.0.43.
s1res still works if you have the original full version of your players firmware.
1.5 and 1.8 inch firmware versions use different sized images the 1.5 has a screen area of 128x128 pixels, the 1.8 160x120. You can not use a 1.5 firmware on a 1.8 player or visa versa.
The 9.0.XX series firmware are for the newer chip types like the ATJ2091, 2095, 2097 and CTW500.
The 3.5.XX series is for the ATJ2051, 2085 chipsets.
Once again you can not use 3 series firmware on a 9 series player etc.

sswajeta, No the 2 versions are completely different and will either not load or will kill your player trying.
At the moment recovering a dead 9.0.48 or 9.0.50 player is almost impossible as there are so few firmware available.
