Default Sumvision K-PAC 2Gb MP3/4 Player

Hi All looking for some advice if possible.
Just bought Sumvision K-PAC 2Gb MP3/4 player from DataKits.co.uk
Player looks good and is fairly easy to use but I'm having a problem with it randomly switching itself off during menu navigation. The specific symptom (fully charged) seems to be if I switch it on to the menu screen then don't do anything for about 10 seconds when you press the navigation keys it just switches off, same applies if you do navigate round for some time then leave it for 10-20 seconds then press another key it switches off. I have set power off to 'off' which I presume means it never powers off and there doesn't seem to be any other power off settings. Any help would be appreciated before I send it back as duff and get a replacement.
Thanks

It`s like an MP3 Player which plays Music CDs only.

@lattesurf - thanks for the reply
There is no option for sleep, the menu options that seem to do with power or display settings are (current setting in brackets)

Display
- BLight Time 5 sec, 10 sec, 20 sec, (30 sec), Always On
- Lum 1 2 (3) 4 5
- BLight Mode (Normal), Power Save

System
- Language
- About = ver 00.00.0032, Date 2006-09-12
- Upgrades
- Default Settings (already tried this)

Power Off Time
- Power Off (OFF), 10 min, 15 min, 30 min, 60 min, 120 min

Further replies would be helpful. Currently I am drafting an email to DataKits requesting a refund which is a shame because it plays music fine no problems. Just the navigation power-offs which are a pain.
