New player - short battery life - What should I do?

Hello,
I bought some days ago the 2gb 2nd generation nano clone from gpsupplier (singapore) on ebay.

The player works fine, but the battery life is very short. I can play only around 2 hours of mp3 with medium volume.

Does anyone has the same problems? Is there a way to improve the battery? Or should I ask for the seller to change the player?

Any suggestions appreciated!
Thanks very much

MartinUS , have you set the screen to turn off after idling for a few seconds?
You can do so by going to
System >> LCD Setting >> Darkle
and
System >> LCD Setting >> Black
in there, is the amount of idle time in seconds to turn the player screen off.
This helps to conserve alot of battery life.

Also, how long do you charge your player? Typical charging should take about 2-3hours, and give a minimum of at least 3-4hours playtime.
