USB cable pin outs

if your cable is not working and still can be repaired cozf you dont have money to buy one but have the tools for connecting wires,,check this picture to determine the pin outs of yor cable..there are two types of mini cables shown i hope this is useful to you,,,..

wondering how this is useful?

if your player seems well but the computer cannot recognize your player..well its the cable dude..best thing to do is check the connection between the two ends..the pictures shows you the detailed information on the pin outs..you can use an ohmeter at your multimeter selector and check if the two ends has a continuity (connected by conduction)..
and if you want to make a usb cable out of a wire and connectors which is sold at electronic stores..you can make one by soldering it the right pins..well you must be knowledgeable enough to do this..it will cost you less in doing this you must take precautions..if you know the risk and know what your doing, then go ahead, well, if not then buy a more expensive yet cheap enough USB cable..
the image came from books.. that said the pin out is in general form (the same in every unit)..

p.s. in case you want to buy one but you dont know the name..well its in the picture..stop describing a product with your own words specially on an SQL..he3

Re: USB cable pin outs

Edited post.
Some players use 5 pin and some use 4 pin and there are different styles of each type.

Remember the old days? When usb was simple.
