Take out battery

Hi!

I have just brought a Full Metal Platinum iPod clone 1,5 – 1GB. The battery doesn’t seem to charge well. The Firmware is 9.0.49 so I don’t have any tool for changing it.

I have an older player I would like to swap battery with, but I can’t find out how to open/take out the battery of the IPod clone. I guess there is a simple way, but I’m afraid of breaking it :x

Does anyone know?

KingGinola,

Is the product still under warranty?
Where did you buy it from?
If it's under warranty, I would say get it checked out or replaced.

However, try some of these suggestions first though:

1. Try charging using both USB cable and power adaptor.

2. If charging using USB, try different USB ports as well and make sure they are plugged directly into the computer rather than going into a USB hub as they might not supply enough power.

3. If you can, try a different USB cable as that might be faulty.

Try those and let us know how you get on...

Re: Take out battery

swith to "on" position for charge.
open the player and check the battery voltage (with a stupid tester)...if more than 3,7v battery fells the charge !!after a full charge battery is about 4,2 v...in this case usb cable and charge circuit it's good...so try this:

1) clean (with spray cleaner) the switch...be carefully to don't spray in to the display otherwise you would disassemble it to clean...and it's an hard job!!
2) i had this problem (when i try to swith on, hourglasses for few seconds and then "low battery" and swith off).
so i have selled it to ebay...new buyer tolds me that after dump it, all works well!!!!

Good luck.

The white bottom is just a sticker that you need to peel off slowly then you will see 2 screws holding the bottom on. Then it will slide out of the case. I pushed it from the bottom up and out the top. Replace or check your battery and put it back together. I did this with the same player as you have except it was a red color. But they are the same.

Hi.

In case any one else finds this post, I just want to point out one thing that Pocket_Nano forgot to say. When the screws are taken out the bottom, don't push the insides out instantly. The button section must be pressed turned anticlockwise and lifted out before you do anything else. Otherwise, as I found out, the pieces which hold it in get broken and it may not go back on again.

Hope this was useful information.

Draisha , good point. Although i don't own a 2nd gen clone, but i think your input is very useful. :D
