help me. display got screwed up after firmware upgrade
 

after i have upgraded my firmware, the screen now is really dark, but the icons are still discernible.
it looks as if its dead, but it's still recognized by the computer
can anybody tell what to do?

vinciii, The firmware you have loaded is not compatible with your player. It was most likely designed for a different LCD panel. There are 100's and 100's of variations in firmware and no way of easily telling which ones will work on which player. If you do not have a backup of your original firmware you will need to try some others till you find a better match. Be warned though that the problem could get a lot worse before it gets better. Your player may stop responding completely and no longer be detected by Windows or the update tool. If this happens you will have to use the Dead Player Recovery Guide to reset your player.

One thing you could try is loading the firmware into Firmware Modifier which has a setting for increasing screen contrast. You can download it here:

Is the there a firmware modifier which can modify 9.0.50 f/w version? i tried "waterlyli1" to modify the screen color setting and battery size but it can't be process..

Please help!

Chriz, I have used both Waterlily and Firmware Modifier to adjust default language settings on both 9.0.50 and 9.0.43 and both worked fine. You need to modify a full version firmware though no good trying on a 9.0.50 dump.
The LCD contrast modification will only work if the firmware has a brightness setting. For example my 9.0.50 has no brightness adjustment in the players settings menu so it does not matter what contrast setting you use in Firmware Modifier or Waterlily it has no effect.

thank you. that did help quite a bit. but the letters are still quite fuzzy. im gonna go hunt some better firmware. thank you again tadad
