Can't change music directory
Got a 1Gb Nano Clone for my son for Xmas.
I have several CDs loaded each in their own directory but all directories immediately below the root directory (ie no sub folder to confuse anything). I can navigate to each folder (as per other instructions on the forum) and I have the repeat function set to Normal (as per other posts) but when I press play I always get song 1 from my original folder playing again. Only workaround I have found is to navigate to the directory i want and then hold down the play button until the player switches off. When I then bring it back out of stand-by the new folder has "stuck" and it plays OK. Not an elegant solution however. My firmware is reported as ACT2097_S72_1 25/04/06 and 9.0.48 12/09/2006. Any suggestions or suggested replacement firmware? Baldrick45 |
Re: Can't change music directory
You almost have it right. Mine does that too. Confused me in the beginning.
Once you get to the folder you want, it will show what looks like track 1 with no name, but that is really the way to the upper directory that you just came from. Hit the forward button so that file (2) is selected. This is really the first mp3 file in that folder. Then hit menu (not play). It should now display the file you want, but it won't start. Next hit play. What can be even more confusing is what happens when you press the menu button. If the mp3 is playing, and you press it, you will get a menu that will allow you to change tempo, repeats, EQ etc. If the mp3 is paused, and you press it, you will get a menu that will let you navigate to other files, delete files etc. You also have to do all of these things pretty fast. Otherwise, it will time-out and go back to wherever it was when you started pressing that button sequence. At least this is how mine works. |
Re: Can't change music directory
Works exactly like you said - Pity none of the instructions say that but it works and I'm a happy bunny instead of damning the player as a cheap PoS.
Many Thanks - like so many things in life, simple when you know how ! Baldrick45 |

8) Those instructions are a joke. There were screenshots that were less than 1cm square on mine.
As far as the firmware goes, the 9.0.48 firmware can not be extracted or backed up at this time since no tool exists now to do that. Changing firmware on any of these players is very risky. In other words, don't mess with it. I too have 9.0.48 |
