mp4 videos

I recently got a new mp4 player version 880.267.410.

It's a 1GB player and plays all mp3's fine. When I tried putting videos on there it didnt work. I tried using the disk it came with and i changed the format of the videos to mpg4 as the book said the player would play these. When I try putting them on the player the free disk space gets reduced but the video folder says it has no files in it and there is no trace of the files anywhere. Does anyone know what I can try to put the videos on there and how I can get back the disk space which has gone missing?

well you need to try different video fprmats ..on the download section of this site look at the sample files and look for .AMV videos..and .MTV videos and also if you can find and try other formats
can you give me a copy of your mp4's dump.bin..so i can examine your firmware and might tell you what format of video your player plays,,..ok?

Did it come with a sample video file?

When you say version "880.267.410", I have a feeling it might not be an Actions chipped player.

It might be a Sunplus or Sigmatel tell player. In this case, you might want to try a .avi fle as well as a .SMV file as well to see if it plays.

Can you explain more the problem? You mean to say the memory has decreased after you've formatted your player?
