i-Platinum or Creative Muvo?
 

As I am trying to decide what kind of player I should buy, I wanted to ask some basic questions.

-I want a 1-2gb mp3 player
-Battery efficiency should be high
-Stability is treasured
-I am price sensitive

I am very intrigued by the video capabilities of some of the Chinese players, and I was thinking of buying an i-Platinum player. However, I was wondering if these players have low battery life, are unstable and if the video quality is so bad I wouldn't want to watch full length films on it while travelling? (would I even be able to watch a 2 hour film with the battery of a non-modified i-Platinum?)

Would I be better off with something in the lines of a Creative Muvo and just forget about the video features of i-Platinum?

Cognition , regarding battery life, the chinese players are generally of lower quality. If you're lucky, you'll get 1 with good capacity and lasts around 3-4hrs of video playback. If you're not, you'll end up with 1 that lasts less than a minute.
However, there are other players like the Glacier which feature removeable batteries (nokia), which can be swapped if the battery is low.

In terms of stability, once you have formatted it and removed any memory hacks that it contains, it would usually be quite stable. Although the occasional static might just restart your player.

If videos are the main thing, i'll recommend you going for larger screens. Perhaps the 2" would be a good choice. i've watched a couple of movies on my 2" player on my flight back home and was reasonably good.

You want a Glacier.

Forget about good video playback on any amv player. You need a dedicated avi player at least. I have 2 Glaciers (well, they are floating between here and Hongkong) but video playback is a little choppy. Look for a rockchip based player, or get a pocket pc or pda, if video is a must have.

Oh yea, i forgot to mention that i watched the movies on my T29, which are .avi with divx codec. i never really tried viewing full length movies on my nano-clone, only a couple of mtvs.

But the bigger screen it is, the better!
