I couldnt help notice there doesnt appear to be a Hold function. Is this the case?? :s

sam36 , unfortunately there isin't any hold button on the player. But it doesn't matter much as there isin't the clickwheel function as with the ipods, which needs the hold function.

sam36 , uxcell.com sells the silicon skins for the 1.5" players. eBay has some sellers selling them, but i found uxcell to be cheaper when i bought mine sometime back.

You can use a normal ipod skin, but you would need to cut the screen to be larger (ipod nanos are 1.2"). Also the alignment of the buttons would be off too. And some clones have the earphone socket on the side rather than the bottom, for this, you'll need to cut the earphone hole too.

ohh sorry i meant a theme/skin for the firmware! cheers

sam36 , you'll need to check for your player's firmware version. The v3.5.xx series, and any version v9.0.43 and below should be fine and be able for theming. This is a list of all the themes uploaded by members
http://www.mympxplayer.org/themes-dc25.html

However, do ensure that you extract a backup of your existing firmware first, the guide is here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-ex...tool-vt66.html

And do not use any themed firmware to flash into your player, doing so would most likely brick your player. Always use your own extracted firmware (as above) and swap the images using the S1res tool. Saving it, then flashing it back into your player. The full guide to theming is here http://www.mympxplayer.org/how-to-mo...ng-vt1719.html

and if you have problems doing it, i will theme it for you, if you upload your firmware :)

any ideas?

sam36 , what firmware version is your player running off? You can check this by going to the Sys Tool menu and select Firmware Version.

thank you for helping me through these difficult times.

my firmware version says:

LSD_9101_20

2006-10-21

9.0.50

2005-01-09

lattesurf 21st Jan 2007 7:38 am

sam36 , unfortunately the S1fwx extraction tool does not support any firmware versions above 9.0.43 at this moment.

So there is pretty much nothing you can do to your player currently. Just enjoy your player as it is, until the tool can support it.

Do not flash your player with another firmware, as it would pretty much brick your player. And as there is no tool able to support your version currently, you would be stuck with a dead player should you kill it.
